ARIZONA — Less than 5 percent of Arizonans have started the COVID-19 vaccination process, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Approximately 347,013 Arizonans have received at least the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, the health department said Thursday. There are nearly 7.3 million Arizonans, based off the most recent U.S. Census data.

Arizona recently expanded who can receive the coronavirus vaccine, allowing those age 65 and older to receive the shot at the two state vaccination sites. All other sites are still focusing on seniors 75 and older, educators and first responders.
