National Cemetery of Arizona Holds Virtual Memorial Day Ceremony

For Memorial Day 2020 a "solemn​ wreath laying ceremony" will be shared on Facebook.

PHOENIX — The National Cemetery of Arizona will hold a virtual ceremony due to concerns over COVID-19, reports 12 News.

Historically thousands would visit the cemetery to honor the dead by placing flags and wreaths on their graves. But this year cemetery staff will host a "solemn wreath laying ceremony" that will be shared on Facebook, according to Srey Austin, the director of the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and a former active duty soldier.
