Shamrock Farms 100th Birthday: Contest For $10,000 To Draw Spokescow New Birthday Outfit
The Arizona dairy is celebrating 100 years with a challenge for loyal customers. The #RoxiesBDayDesignContest runs until May 20.

ARIZONA — Shamrock Farms' spokescow, Roxie, needs your help! The Arizona dairy is celebrating its 100th birthday with some fun surprises, like a limited-edition, birthday-cake-flavored milk in Arizona schools. But the best surprise of all is the chance to give Roxie a brand-new birthday outfit and win $10,000 if the spokescow chooses it as the best design.
The contest is running on Instagram and Twitter, with entries being submitted on both platforms using #RoxieBDayDesignContest, which must be in the caption of the original post, not a story or reply. Also, the entrant cannot change their username between when they enter and when the winner is announced, and multiple people cannot enter from the same account.
According to the official rules, the account must also be following Shamrock Farms' account on the platform of entry, and the account setting must remain public until the prizes are awarded.

An option does exist to enter by mail, detailed instructions for which can be found within the official rules. Entrants must be 13 years old at the time of entry and have express permission from a parent to enter and accept the prize. Parents may submit content created by their minor child, but for the purpose of the contest, the winner will be the person who submits the content.

While the contest is open to all 50 states, the dairy itself is Arizona-loyal. According to a news release about their own milestone birthday, Shamrock Farms is the number one dairy brand in the state and "an Arizona business mainstay."
"With a herd of more than 20,000 cows, Shamrock continues to be the original, household name in Arizona," the news release continued.
"Arizona is ingrained in who we are and what we do. The community has been with us every step of the way, and we’re excited to celebrate this milestone together," Sharmrock Foods CEO Kent McClelland said, according to the news release.
For the contest, Shamrock Farms specifically encourages everyone to create the outfit for Roxie by first printing the image of Roxie's outline and then using "colored pencils, crayons, markers, paint, colored paper (no print or patterns), or similar."
Maybe it wouldn't hurt to throw some nods to Arizona in there? A cactus, perhaps?
Any content that the entrant did not create is prohibited, which includes but is not limited to stickers and anything from the internet.
There are two other very specific rules: no udders and no glitter.
"You may not add udders to your Contest Entry," the rules state. "Your Contest Entry must not include intricate patterns or design components (like glitter or any other texture) that cannot feasibly be included if Sponsor chooses to use the Contest Entry on its product packaging."
After creating the perfect birthday outfit, take a photo of the design on the Roxie image and upload it to either Instagram or Twitter with #RoxieBDayDesignContest in the caption.
The judging criteria put forth in the official rules are as follows:
"A panel of qualified judges, determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will select the entrant with the highest-scoring Contest Entry ('Potential Winner') based on the following Judging Criteria:
- Quality (33%);
- Creativity (33%); and
- Visual Appeal (34%)."
Each entrant may enter a limit of three times. The contest closes on May 20 at 8:59 p.m. MST, and according to Shamrock Farms in the rules, the winner should be notified on or around June 17.
Beyond the contest, according to the news release, "the 100th celebration kicked off with an official State of Arizona Commendation, city of Phoenix proclamation and a 100,000-meal donation to St. Mary’s Food Bank."
