• Verde Village pond may become a park (journalaz.com) — A longtime duck pond in Verde Village, just outside Cottonwood, may be drained and turned into Yavapai County’s first park for District 3 after supervisors agreed to study taking over the property. The pond is set to lose its Cottonwood Ditch Association water supply in 2028, raising concerns about blight, wildlife impacts, and costly repairs unless a new plan and funding are secured.
