• World War II-era grenade scare forces evacuations, road closures in Globe (azfamily.com) — Residents in parts of Globe were evacuated and Pine Street was closed Monday after World War II-era hand grenades were turned in to the Globe Police Department. City officials say the closures, near Veteran’s Park, are out of an abundance of caution while emergency teams secure the decades-old explosives. Drivers are urged to follow directions from first responders and watch for official city updates.
