Here are the Arizona cities with largest population gains (azbigmedia.com) — Goodyear is among Arizona’s fastest-growing cities, adding an estimated 5,875 new residents between mid-2024 and mid-2025, signaling more neighbors, development, and economic activity locally. Statewide, Arizona gained over 97,000 people, with Maricopa County leading numeric growth and several West Valley cities seeing especially strong increases.
   

2. Water, utility bills going up in Goodyear. Here's how much (azcentral.com) — Goodyear residents will see city water and trash bills rise nearly 6% starting January 2026, adding about $8 a month next year and roughly $40 more by 2029. The four-year increase, approved 5-2 by City Council, funds operating costs, infrastructure and water treatment, and mainly affects households south of I-10 using the city’s water service.
   

3. 2 Arizona inmates dead after unrelated gang attacks (ktar.com) — A West Valley inmate has died at a Goodyear hospital after a gang-related attack at the Arizona State Prison Complex–Lewis in nearby Buckeye, raising concerns about safety inside state prisons. Corrections officials say two recent fatal assaults at different complexes are unrelated and emphasize that they believe the broader inmate population and staff remain safe while investigations continue.
