PHOENIX — Two people are dead after firefighters said they may have been electrocuted after coming in contact with ground wires, according to reports.

Firefighters with the Phoenix Fire Department responded Wednesday morning to North 23rd and West Peoria avenues in the city's North Mountain Village section, KSAZ-TV reported.

"Phoenix Firefighters responded to reports of two people who were possibly electrocuted after coming in contact with in ground electrical wires," the department told the TV station.

Officials told KNXV-TV two people died after "coming in contact with in-ground electrical wires," around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

A man and woman died. Their names weren't immediately released.
