1. 10 Chinese restaurants open on Christmas Day in metro Phoenix (coppercourier.com) — If you’re staying in metro Phoenix for Christmas, ten Chinese restaurants across Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and Mesa will be open with special hours and menus. From dim sum at Great Wall and Mekong Palace to longtime favorites like China Chili, Jade Palace and Nee House, the list highlights where locals can reliably grab Christmas Day Chinese food.
   

2. PHX Spearheading Integration of Advanced Air Mobility (phoenix.gov) — Phoenix’s aviation department is moving to bring next‑generation “air taxi” and cargo technology to Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports, aiming to cut congestion and boost sustainability. A new study summary outlines how Phoenix could become a national leader in advanced air mobility, including pilot training, cargo movement, and a federal integration pilot proposal with the Arizona Commerce Authority.
   

3. Phoenix students harvest fresh greens grown at school district's hydroponic farm (fox10phoenix.com) — Students in Phoenix’s Osborn School District are growing and harvesting their own lettuce at a hydroponic “Flex Farm,” turning science lessons into fresh salads. Kids are learning nutrition, checking pH and nutrients, and sending extra greens to Desert Mission Food Pantry in Phoenix, giving local families healthier options while building real-world skills.
   

4. Dozens of cars go up in flames at south Phoenix junkyard (azfamily.com) — A south Phoenix junkyard fire torched about 30 cars near 23rd Avenue and Broadway Road Thursday evening, drawing dozens of firefighters. The same night, a man was seriously wounded in a Maryvale shooting, and Phoenix police also made arrests tied to violent home invasions. Authorities say there’s no ongoing threat from a separate homemade explosive found in Chandler.
