Here are five outstanding volunteer organizations in the Phoenix area.

1. Valley of the Sun United Way: With a focus on tackling systemic issues, Valley of the Sun United Way seeks to increase access and opportunities for people living in the region. Their program areas focus on housing, healthcare, education and workforce development. 2. Phoenix Dream Center: Dedicated to ending childhood hunger and human trafficking, the Phoenix Dream Center offers community outreach, programs and services to people in need. 3. Nourish PHX: Serving around 200 families each day, this organization supports the Phoenix community with essential services like nutrition support, clothing, education and employment assistance. 4. Phoenix Zoo: Since 1962, the Phoenix Zoo has focused on conserving animals and their habitats while also providing opportunities for community members to learn about the natural world. Volunteers at the zoo assist with a variety of tasks, including assisting guests, helping at the petting zoo or educating guests at the Stingray Bay or Monkey Village exhibits. 5. Phoenix Children’s: This pediatric hospital offers comprehensive care for children experiencing a variety of medical conditions. Volunteers play an important role by interacting with patients and assisting families as they navigate the facility.
