Arizona Presidential Preference Election Early Voting Begins

Early voting for the Arizona Presidential Preference Election has begun, with the election set for March 17.

ARIZONA — The Arizona 2020 Presidential Preference Election (PPE) is underway. Early voting begun on Wednesday, Feb. 19, with the election date set for March 17.

Only the Democratic Party is participating in the election. The PPE is a closed election, meaning independents will not be able to vote. See the link at the bottom of the page to ensure you're registered.

The PPE is Arizona's version of a presidential primary or caucus. The state's party delegates will then head to the Democratic National Convention to cast official votes.

Here's a list of important dates for the Arizona PPE and the general election:

  • Saturday, Feb. 1: UOCAVA Ballots Mailed
  • Tuesday, Feb. 18: Voter registration deadline
  • Wednesday, Feb. 19: Early voting begins
  • Friday, March 6: Last day to request a ballot by mail
  • Wednesday, March 11: Mail in your early ballot by
  • Friday, March 13: Last day to vote early in person
  • Tuesday, March 17: Arizona Presidential Preference Election Day
  • July to August: Democratic and Republican National Conventions
  • Tuesday, Nov. 3: General Election Day
