AZ Monsoon: Flash Flood Warning Issued For Phoenix Area; NWS
A line of strong thunderstorms is expected to reach the Valley Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. Here's what we know.

PHOENIX, AZ — A line of strong thunderstorms is fast approaching the Valley, bringing torrential rain and strong winds, the National Weather Service said.
A flash flood warning and a significant weather have been issued for the West Valley, including Surprise, Glendale, Goodyear, El Mirage and the north Valley portion of Phoenix through 7 p.m., the service said.
The two advisories describe the storms as being nearly stationary, producing heavy rain and winds to the area.

The current line of storms are virtually stationary, located roughly over Surprise Stadium in the West Valley at 2:46 p.m., the service said.
Phoenix has between a 20-and-30 percent chance of rain Thursday night, with the same odds on Friday, the service's forecast predicts.
