Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- New York-based developer Kimco Realty Corp's long-term revitalization of the 1.2 million-square-foot Christown Spectrum center in Phoenix is set to welcome new tenants, including Hobby Lobby, Burlington, Five Below, KTK Chiropractic, and food concept Naughty Tacos. The retail stores are expected to open in 2024 and will join more than 50 other tenants within the center. Kimco Realty's website shows that the mall currently has around 17 vacant spaces around the property. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- Phoenix-based Banner Health, the largest health system in Arizona, has decided to purchase 48 acres of land in north Scottsdale after losing a state land auction to HonorHealth in November 2022. The health system plans to invest $400 million to construct a hospital campus near a separate 48-acre parcel of state land that it had initially planned to build on. Earlier in the year, Banner Health had been working with the city of Scottsdale on entitlements for the state land, which is across the street from Cavasson, Nationwide Realty Investors' master-planned development, but they lost the bid to HonorHealth CEO Todd LaPorte. - The Phoenix Airport Museum is hosting its first-ever Night at the Museum event on Friday, Mar. 24, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Terminal 4, level 3 gallery. The event, Art and Science Come to Life, celebrates the Museum's current Artist and Researcher exhibition that presents art inspired by science. The exhibition was developed by the Phoenix Bioscience Core, "where nine local artists were paired with researchers to create artwork based on their different areas of study," showcasing how the talents of science and art can join forces to communicate complex information in an approachable way through artworks. Visitors can participate in an augmented reality experience, meet the researchers and artists involved, and enjoy fun art activities, treats, and scavenger hunt guides. The event is free and open to the public, whether you are traveling or not. (Signals AZ)
