Beware Of Scammers Who Pose As Police, Ask For Money: Phoenix PD

These scammers might also pose as judicial officials or court staff, the city of Phoenix warned.

PHOENIX, AZ — Scammers looking to make quick money are posing as police officers, judicial officials or court staff and threatening people with fines or jail time if they don't pay, the Phoenix Police Department warned in a news release.

Anyone who receives a phone call, text or email from someone claiming to be a local official should not give them any information, police said.

"The Phoenix Municipal Court will never use a phone call, text, or email to request personal or financial information, or to make threats," the city said in the news release.
