Cold In Store For The Valley With Temps 20 Degrees Below Normal

High winds Monday night topped out at around 41 mph.

PHOENIX, AZ — Tuesday was set to be a cold one, for Phoenicians anyway, with highs expected to peak at around 20 degrees below normal for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs on Tuesday were expected at around 70 degrees across the Valley, with breezes from 10-15 mph. Unseasonably chilly lows were predicted for Tuesday night as well, bottoming out around 50 degrees, according to the weather service.

A line of storms that moved through the valley Monday night brought strong winds, peaking at 41 mph in Scottsdale, 46 mph in Phoenix and 31 mph in Tempe, according to weather service records.

Wednesday is looking to be a little warmer with temperatures still well below normal, with an expected high of 75 degrees in Phoenix and a low of 54. Things will start to heat back up Thursday with a high of 79.

Later in the week, temperatures will be closer to normal for this time of year, with a high of 84 Friday and a high of 90 degrees Saturday, the weather service predicted.
