Convenience Store Shooting Victim Gets Help At Second Store

After an argument at a convenience store, a man is shot but police aren't called until after the victim walks to a second store.

PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix police officers were called to investigate a convenience store shooting in the area of 67th Ave. and McDowell Road around 4 a.m. Thursday. When police arrived on the scene, they found the victim, a 57-year-old male, and learned that the victim had been arguing with the suspect about a parking problem. The suspect then drew a gun and shot the victim.

Next, the victim crossed the street on foot to another convenience store. The police weren’t called until after the victim arrived at the second store. The victim was then taken in critical condition to a local hospital.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a bright green shirt. The suspect’s vehicle was most recently seen on McDowell Road headed east. Police are looking for a Ford pickup truck hitched to a cement mixer.

With the investigation still underway, police are asking the public to call Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS or at (480) TESTIGO for Spanish, if they have any helpful information. Tipsters can call anonymously and might receive a reward up to $1,000.
