Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:

  1. Phoenix's Fairview Place neighborhood is set to receive "cool pavement" again, as the first attempt resulted in messy paw and shoe prints from the gray coolant. The city plans to use its original product, which has been proven to be successful, and is 10 to 12 degrees cooler than traditional asphalt, making it more comfortable to walk on during the heat of the day. The survey showed that residents are in support of the cooler option, with plans to extend it to 100 miles of "cool pavement" in 11 neighborhoods by mid-June. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
  2. Police in Phoenix are searching for a 17-year-old suspect, Sir Amir Williamson, who is wanted for the murder of his 18-year-old cousin, Elijah Johnson. Johnson was shot and killed following an argument with Williamson at an extended-stay motel. When officers arrived, Johnson was found on the ground outside a motel room with a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, according to police. Williamson is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the police immediately. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest and/or indictment. (KTAR.com)
  3. Several restaurants in the Valley failed recent health inspections, with violations ranging from ant killer near water heaters to raw pork stored above raw steaks. However, some restaurants, including Sardella's Pizza & Wings in Phoenix and Scottsdale's In N Out Burger, received perfect health inspection scores and made the Dean's List. The inspections were conducted by Maricopa County's Environmental Services Department. Click the link to view the results. (Arizona's Family)
