Glendale Officer Dies Of COVID-19 Complications: Police

Officer Lonnie Durham died August 2. He is survived by his wife and four children.

GLENDALE, AZ — The Glendale Police Department announced Monday that one of its officers died last week from COVID-19 complications.

Officer Lonnie Durham worked for Glendale PD for more than 10 years, according to a news release from the department. His father is a retired police sergeant, and his brother serves as a detective.

Durham died August 2. He is survived by his wife and four children.

His funeral is scheduled for this weekend; the police department says it will be for family and friends.

During his career as a Glendale police officer, Durham received the Medal of Valor and a Lifesaving Award, according to the news release.
