- Stein Enterprises is opening several Hawaiian Bros throughout Phoenix and Arizona. The Kansas City-based chain specializes in plated lunches and brings things that were popular in Hawaii inland. - Joe Faillace, one of the owners of Old Station Subs, spoke on the noticeable rise in homelessness in downtown Phoenix that is impacting his and ther businesses on Jefferson Street. According to Faillace, issues began to arise in Nov. 2019; despite his efforts to reach out to the city, he says nothing has changed for the better. A group of Phoenix residents and business owners filed a lawsuit back in August to reclaim their neighborhood; the battle continues on both sides. (KTAR.com)
- A Phoenix woman was taken into custody Monday morning after a suspected drunk driving accident resulted in the hospitalization of two women and the loss of an unborn child. According to police, the two women were driving near 9th Street and Grovers Avenue on Sunday night around 10:30 p.m. When they attempted to turn, they were allegedly struck by 39-year-old Leslie Yeager, who was said to flee the scene before being detained. The two victims involved were rushed to a hospital; one woman was treated for minor injuries, while the pregnant woman lost her seven-month-old baby and remains in critical condition.
