Nestle To Build $675M Factory In Glendale, To Bring 350 Jobs

The factory, which will produce coffee creamers, is set to begin hiring this summer and to open in 2024.

GLENDALE, AZ — Nestle announced Wednesday its plans to invest $675 million in a new coffee creamer facility in Glendale.

The factory is set to bring more than 350 jobs to Glendale — including professional staff, manufacturing and production leaders, technical workers and engineers. Nestle expects to begin hiring for the jobs this summer and to continue through 2023. The factory is set to take up 630,000 square feet and will sit on around 143 acres. Nestle plans to open the factory in 2024.

The new factory is meant to help meet increased customer demand for Nestle products, the company said in a news release.

The new factory will manufacture creamers for brands like Coffee mate, Coffee mate natural bliss and Starbucks, with the possibility of expanding to produce more beverages in the future.
“Beverages play an increasingly important role in the lives of consumers, a trend that’s been accelerated by the pandemic and is expected to continue to grow," Daniel Jhung, president of beverage, Nestle USA, said in the news release. "This investment illustrates our continued commitment to leading and growing categories where we play, providing consumers with a variety of high-quality, innovative products to meet their needs. We appreciate the partnership from state and local officials and look forward to contributing to the local economy and Glendale community for many years to come, including through the creation of over 350 jobs.”

Nestle plans to design the factory sustainably, with a water recycling process, zero waste to landfill and to use recyclable product packaging made from recycled plastic. Nestle has set a goal of using 100 percent renewable energy at the factory by 2025.

“Nestle selecting Arizona is great news,” Gov. Doug Ducey said in the news release. “Manufacturing in our state is surging and Nestlé's decision adds to this momentum, as well as bringing diversification to this fast-growing sector of our economy.”

The facility in Glendale is set to be Nestle's most advanced factory and distribution center.

“We are honored to welcome the largest food and beverage company to Glendale’s New Frontier,” Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers said in the news release. “Their commitment to long-term positive impact aligns directly with the City’s vision and we look forward to having them join our community. The significant impact of their fiscal investment and the jobs created will be seen for years to come.”
