Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- The Texas-based Rainbow Health and Arizona-based Solari Crisis & Human Services are officially partnering to bring residents a new mobile crisis team dispatch system. The new application will send an individual's emergency medical records to the mobile response teams' cell phones and track their progress through GPS. Nearby Tempe was the first city in the Phoenix area to test out the response team. (KTAR)
- On Sunday, May 7, two people tragically passed away during a fiery, wrong-way crash in downtown Phoenix. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, an individual reported a driver heading the wrong way on I-10 near 7th Avenue, and a crash was then reported moments afterward. Both on-ramps to the freeway were closed while detectives pieced together what led up to the fatal accident. (AZ Family)
- According to authorities, five inmates from the Maricopa County jail were hospitalized due to an overdose on Sunday morning. All five of the inmates received doses of Narcan and have since been evaluated, as well as released from the hospital. The 720-bed facility specifically houses medium security general population inmates, a majority of which are "unsentenced, pre-trial detainees." (AZCentral.com)
