Phoenix Child Awake And Responsive After Accidental Shooting: Police
The child was shot by another child after the pair found a gun in a Phoenix apartment. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
PHOENIX, AZ —A child was awake and responsive with non-life-threatening injuries Thursday night after being accidentally shot by another child in a Phoenix apartment, the Phoenix Police Department said.
Police said the shooting took place at an apartment complex near 7th Avenue and Alta Vista Road after two school-aged juveniles found a firearm inside their apartment.
According to a preliminary investigation by the PPD, one of the children picked up the firearm and accidentally shot the other.

Officers responded to the scene and said the child was alert while being transported to the hospital by fire department personnel.
