Phoenix Man Killed When Burglar Breaks In, Shoots Him: Police
The fatal shooting happened Wednesday afternoon in a home near 19th Avenue and Joan de Arc Avenue, according to police.
PHOENIX, AZ — A man is dead after a suspected burglar forced their way into his home in Phoenix Wednesday afternoon and then shot him, according to police.
Sergio Chalpeno, 34, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Chalpeno was shot to death around 3 p.m. Wednesday in his home near 19th Avenue and Joan de Arc Avenue, after an unidentified person broke in and shot him, police said.

As of Thursday morning, police did not have description of the suspected shooter to share with the public.
