PHOENIX, AZ – Thirty-six-year-old Vamba Mamadee Donzo isn’t above biting police to escape custody. He was arrested by Phoenix police in Tucson in connection with the murder of Christopher Charles Mihaylo, 47, who was found dead inside an apartment near 17000 N. 11th Ave. in Phoenix on Aug. 22.

After his arrest, while sitting in a transport vehicle, Donzo started kicking the vehicle’s window. Officers opened the door to secure Donzo better, but the suspect stepped out of the vehicle and began fighting police. He also bit “several of them,” according to police. That got Donzo booked into the Pima County Jail, and he now faces charges of Escape and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. Donzo will face even more charges, police say, and the murder investigation continues.
