Suspicious Package Caused Phoenix Road Closures: Reports
Reports say the bomb squad was called to the area of the mini stack interchange, causing several road closures. They've since reopened.
PHOENIX, AZ — A suspicious package was the cause of several major road closures around Phoenix's Mini Stack interchange Wednesday, according to reports. Soon after 8 a.m., there were backups along I-10, SR-51 southbound and SR-202 westbound as the bomb squad worked to secure the package.
The AP reported the bomb squad "determined the suspicious item was not a threat," and roads were reopened soon before 9 a.m.
The Arizona Department of Transportation tweeted "it's going to take some time" to clear the backups caused by the road closures.
