Red Flag Warning Issued For The Valley: NWS

Gusty winds, low humidity and dry vegetation will all contribute to high fire danger in the Phoenix metro area on Tuesday.

TUCSON, AZ — The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for much of Southern Arizona Tuesday, including the Phoenix metro area.

The Valley is forecast to see gusty winds and very low humidity Tuesday. The area already has large amounts of dry vegetation, and these factors will all contribute to the fire danger, the weather service said.

The weather service issued the red flag warning in Phoenix for 2-8 p.m. Tuesday. A red flag warning means that hazardous fire weather conditions are happening now or are expected to develop, according to the National Weather Service.
