- The remains of 31-year-old Jerole Tsinnijinnie, reported missing since January 2020, were identified in South Phoenix. As Phoenix Police continue their investigation without current leads, the family yearns for justice, highlighting the ongoing issue of missing and murdered indigenous individuals. - Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is on track to unveil a $28 million, 30,000-square-foot-terminal expansion in February 2024, providing five new gates and enhanced amenities, replacing an older temporary structure. This expansion, funded partly by a $14.4 million federal grant, is pivotal as the airport consistently sets new passenger growth records, accommodating over 1.9 million travelers in 2023. Contractor McCarthy Building Companies has expressed a commitment to minimizing disruptions and completing the project on time and on budget, while the airport's Executive Director and CEO, J. Brian O'Neill, emphasized the terminal's critical importance in accommodating new commercial passenger growth records. (KTAR.com)
