Teen Employee Killed In Shooting At McDonald's In Laveen: Police
The shooting at McDonald's in Laveen happened Wednesday morning.
PHOENIX, AZ — A 16-year-old employee was killed in a shooting that happened Wednesday morning at the McDonald's near the intersection of 51st Avenue and Baseline Road in Laveen, according to Phoenix police.
Prince Nedd was shot around 10:15 a.m., inside the bathroom of the McDonalds, Phoenix police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspected shooter and Nedd knew each other, according to police.
The suspected shooter fled the McDonald's on foot and police were looking for him, police said. Sgt. Vincent Cole said during a Wednesday afternoon news conference that police were not releasing any information about the suspected shooter as they searched for him.

Police did not believe the suspected shooter posed a threat to the surrounding community and no one else inside the restaurant was injured.
"Any time there's an instance of a crime of this magnitude it can be traumatic for the people who are involved or the people who are near it," Cole said. "We take that into consideration with making sure that they have the services that they need."

Anyone with information on the shooting or the suspected shooter is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department.
"First and foremost our thoughts are always with the victim's family, regardless of their age," Cole said.
The restaurant was set to be closed for the rest of the day.
