Showers, Wind Headed For Phoenix: National Weather Service

Rain is likely in the Valley Monday night through Tuesday, with the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds.

PHOENIX, AZ — The Valley had cloudy skies on Monday, with rain in the forecast overnight Monday into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

There was an 80 percent chance of showers Monday night, climbing to a 90 percent chance on Tuesday, the weather service predicted. There was a possibility of thunderstorms on Monday night and Tuesday.

The weather service predicted areas of blowing dust from 11 p.m. to midnight on Monday, with a south wind of 5-15 mph and gust up 25 mph. The overnight low was expected to be around 58 degrees, and rainfall was expected to be less than one-tenth of an inch.

The high on Tuesday will be around 70 degrees with continuing winds of 5-15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.

Temperatures were expected to be significantly cooler for the rest of the week than they were last week, when highs in the Valley reached the upper-to-mid 90s. Highs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were expected to be 78, 81 and 83 degrees, respectively, with sunny or mostly sunny skies.
