Soggy Christmas Eve Likely In Phoenix: Inch Of Rain Possible

There's a good chance that the Valley could get more than a half-inch of rain on Friday, with more than an inch possible.

PHOENIX, AZ — Get ready for a wet holiday weekend, Phoenix.

Showers are likely to begin late Thursday night and to continue into Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The weather service forecast is calling for a 100 percent chance of showers on Christmas Eve, with a continuing 40-50 percent chance on Christmas Day.

Friday showers have the potential to drop between a half-inch and three-quarters of an inch of rain, with the possibility of more than an inch falling in some parts of the Valley, the weather service predicted.

Christmas Eve is expected to be both wet and chilly, with a high of 58 degrees. It's expected to warm up on Christmas Day, with a high around 66 degrees.
