  1. An 18-year-old student at Linda Abril Educational Academy in Phoenix was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon for allegedly possessing a handgun on school premises. Phoenix police responded to a threat call around 1:30 p.m. and confirmed the student's possession of the weapon; specific charges are still pending. Further details about the incident have not been disclosed. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
  2. A man in his 30s was fatally shot near a Phoenix bus stop at 15th Avenue and Van Buren late Tuesday night. Phoenix police, who responded to an earlier report of shots fired in the area but found no victim or witnesses, discovered the gravely injured man around 10:45 p.m., and he later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS; no arrests have been made. (The Arizona Republic)

The City of Phoenix has been honored with the "Top Green Fleet Award for 2023" by the National Association of Fleet Administrators, distinguishing itself among North American contenders for its commitment to eco-friendly initiatives.
