Two Teens Killed In Thunderbird Road Crash: Police

The car they were in hit an electrical pole and then a block wall, according to police.

PHOENIX, AZ — Two teenage boys are dead after the car they were in lost control and crashed into an electrical pole Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The teens were Aron Heeley and Payton Sharp, both 17, police said. A man who was in the car with them was taken to a hospital to be treated for injures that were not life threatening, according to police.

The crash happened around 2:10 p.m. Tuesday when the car that the man and the teens were in sped through the intersection of 35th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, according to police. The car sideswiped another vehicle traveling in the same direction, lost control and crashed into an electrical pole and then into a wall, police said.

The two teens were pronounced dead at the scene. The people in the car that was sideswiped were not injured, according to police.

The damage to the electrical pole caused a temporary power outage for some residents in the area.
