Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. Down the road, Scottsdale Water is preparing to send out its irrigation guidance to residents and businesses just in time for summer. According to experts, desert landscapes should not be watered more than twice a week and a variety of officials hope encouraging these initiatives will help the city better conserve water as many landscapes are currently overwatered. The overall goal of this program is to support water conservation, efficiency, and reduce water use by at least 5 percent. (SignalsAZ.com)
  2. Uber recently announced the addition of new perks for riders and drivers who choose to have more green riding options when traveling to and from the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. This program will feature a "Green Curb" at the airport where riders will receive a 40 percent discount when they opt to ride with Uber Comfort Electric. Overall, the company wants to bring more focus into adding sustainability initiatives into their core and offer a variety of environmentally safe options for riders. (KTAR)
  3. Phoenix police are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a 16-year-old girl dead on Friday night. According to recent reports, the crash happened around 11:00 p.m. near Black Canyon Corridor. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found Paulina Vargas-Ochoa lying on the roadway. Ochoa was taken to a nearby hospital but was eventually pronounced dead. (AZ Family)
