Wet Weather, Cold Coming To The Valley: National Weather Service

Rain in the Valley is a near certainty on Wednesday, and the rest of the week is expected to be chilly.

PHOENIX, AZ — Rain is all but certain in Phoenix Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, with a chance of rain on Tuesday as well.

Tuesday started off uncharacteristically gloomy in Phoenix, with cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain in the afternoon, increasing to a 50 percent chance in the evening, the weather service predicted. The overnight low was expected to be around 48 degrees.

Rain is likely Wednesday, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation and rainfall between one-quarter and one-half inch possible.

The chance of rain is forecast to diminish to around 20 percent Wednesday evening.

The rest of the week is expected to remain relatively chilly, with highs in the 60s and lows in the upper 30s and low 40s, the weather service predicted.

Temperatures are forecast to warm on Sunday and Monday of next week, with highs around 75 and 80 degrees, respectively.
