Wind, Blowing Dust Advisories For Phoenix Metro Area: NWS

Rain and colder temperatures are also in store for the region around Phoenix.

PHOENIX, AZ — Wind and blowing dust advisories are in effect for the entire Phoenix metro area from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

A weather system coming to Arizona from California Tuesday evening is expected to bring rain and strong winds that are the National Weather Service's primary concern. Sustained winds of 20-30 mph are possible with gusts of up to 40-50 mph, according to the weather service forecast.

If you're driving and experience decreased visibility due to blowing dust or sand, pull as far over off the road as possible, turn off your lights, put your car in park and keep your foot off the brake, the weather service advises.
