Winter Temps Finally Hit Phoenix With Overnight Lows In The 30s

PHOENIX, AZ — It's finally time to break out your winter clothes, Phoenix. Overnight lows across the Valley dipped into the 30s in many communities for the first time since March 1, according to the National Weather Service.

Scottsdale saw an overnight low Wednesday of 38 degrees, while Mesa hit a chilly 34, the weather service said. Sky Harbor Airport saw a low of 40 degrees, but portions of Phoenix and Tempe also dove into the upper 30s.

Phoenix saw a high of 58 degrees Wednesday, the last time the city had a high temperature colder than that was last January, according to the National Weather Service.

An overnight low of 40 degrees was expected Thursday with temperatures gradually warming through the rest of the week and into the next. The high temperatures on Friday and Saturday were expected to be 63 and 68 degrees, respectively with highs of 70 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday.

The weather service is predicting clear skies for the rest of the week.
