• Recall effort against San Luis Mayor Riedel called off (kawc.org) — San Luis residents no longer face a recall vote on Mayor Nieves Riedel after organizers called off their campaign, according to a city councilmember. The recall had been pushed from March to November’s general election, when Riedel is expected to seek re-election. Separate recall efforts targeting Councilwoman Lizeth Servin and Councilman Luis Cabrera are still moving forward and could appear on the November ballot.
   

• San Luis High School students receive QuestBridge Match Scholarship (kawc.org) — Three San Luis High School students have earned full-ride QuestBridge Match Scholarships to top universities across the country, covering tuition, housing, meals, and books.
