  1. The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation has awarded $250,000 to local nonprofit St. Joseph the Worker. The nonprofit's mission is to connect underserved residents with quality jobs. St. Joseph the Worker will use the newly awarded funds to finance their workforce villages program. (Daily Independent)
  2. Chula Seafood has opened its newest location in the former Hi-Health space in north Scottsdale. This is the third location for the family-owned seafood restaurant and markets. The location's bar and restaurant open at 11:00 a.m. The market opens at 10:00 a.m. The new location is at the corner of Hayden and Thompson Peak Parkway. (MOUTH BY SOUTHWEST)
  3. Maricopa County is currently experiencing an increase in COVID-19 infection rates as new variants sweep the country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warn that BA.5 and BA4.6 variants continue to grow. “...if you get vaccinated, the new variants are just okay,” said Dr. Frank Lovecchio of Valleywise Health Medical Center. “The chances of you dying - for one person we see die that’s vaccinated and boosted, we see 17 that are not."
