SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A Scottsdale woman has proven that she is a master at whipping up some of the yummiest baked goods that absolutely no taste bud can resist.

Scottsdale born-and-raised Tess Levin, 26, recently became one of the winners of the new competitive baking show, "Baker's Dozen," which premiered Wednesday, Oct. 7 on Hulu.

"I am beyond excited to win 'Baker's Dozen,' episode three, on Hulu! It is so validating for a home-baker like myself to go up against professionals and other hobby bakers and come out on top," Levin told Patch. "I was able to prove to myself that someone who just bakes for fun can do this too!"

She then advanced to round two, where the remaining contestants baked thirteen identical signature desserts until it was narrowed down to the final three.

Levin then impressed judge’s with her mermaid under the sea themed macaron tower that stole the spotlight and ultimately won the show.

Levin said she hopes her appearance on the show serves as a catalyst for other career opportunities as a baker and culinary comedian.

"I hope there are many opportunities for me in the near future. I will continue to showcase my work on my Instagram page, @fluffcups, and help other bakers find humor in their mistakes! I was able to display my personality and become a relatable baker to many individuals in the field."

The talented baker told Patch that she hopes her appearance on the show also provides her with a larger platform to stress the importance of mental health.

"Baking/pastry making is a very stylized industry, which means mental health takes a back seat to the perfection of a finished dessert," she said. "I want to use this show and my platform to be an advocate for mental health in the field and bring levity with humor through my videos. It is important to show everyone they are not alone and to be that relatable friend in the industry!"

Levin graduated Arcadia High School in Tucson. Although she currently calls Los Angeles home, she Levin frequently travels back and forth to Arizona.

She brands herself as a “culinary comedian” and has a cult following of over 38,000 followers on Instagram and more than 428,000 ‘likes’ on TikTok.
