Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. The Scottsdale City Council is planning six open houses for the public to review the proposed draft amendments to the city's growth and development long-term plan. The first open houses are set for Tuesday, Jan. 10 and Thursday, Jan. 12. (Daily Independent)
  2. Metro Phoenix saw the highest inflation rates in the nation in 2022. The second-highest metro area was Atlanta. Experts say that inflation rates in the area will slow down in 2023 but won't go away completely. (AZ Big Media)
  3. A Scottsdale man said he was scammed of $1,200 in gift cards over the holidays. The man said he bought four Visa gift cards at the grocery store, but when his family went to use them, they had all already been used. Experts say that the most common reason behind the scam is that the numbers on the card were stolen, and scammers then just have to wait for the card to be activated to use it. Authorities offered tips on how to avoid being a victim of gift card scams. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
