  1. Scottsdale will once again host the Worldwide Women's Film Festival. The festival recently released a list of film selections that will begin showing on Jan. 15 for the fifth annual event. The festival plans to showcase 45 of the 132 films that were submitted. (Your Valley)
  2. This year, Scottsdale will see a dual celebration for the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. It will be the 90th anniversary of the first mass and the 75th anniversary for the parish on Oct. 15. The parish is planning events throughout the entire year of 2023 to celebrate the anniversaries.   3. The City of Scottsdale has officially cut off supplying water to the 500 homes in Rio Verde Foothills. The city has been planning for the last year to stop supplying water to the neighborhood as part of the city's water conservation efforts. Residents of Rio Verde Foothills are unsure of where they will be getting their water now. (12 News)

  • The City of Mesa down the road is inviting the community for its Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade and celebration. The parade will start at 11:oo a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, and will be followed by the MLK Community Festival. (Your Community Connection)
  • The Thompson Peak Park playground is closed from now until sometime in February 2023. Scottsdale Parks & Recreation is currently constructing a new playground with inclusive components. (Scottsdale Parks & Recreation via Facebook)
