- A Scottsdale neighbor called local police when they noticed something off at the home next door and heard the man threaten someone followed by screaming. The call led to police rescuing a human trafficking victim and arresting a man who is now being charged with multiple counts, including sex trafficking. According to court documents, Steven Hurry hired the victim as a housekeeper and convinced her to make a prostitution advertisement. (ABC 15 Arizona)
- A record amount of cars are expected to be up for auction at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Car Show and auction. More than 1,900 cars signed up and another 200 cars were turned away. The show will kick off on Jan. 21 at WestWorld in Scottsdale and is the largest car show and auction in the U.S. (Arizona Family)
- The upcoming Super Bowl is expected to bring a huge boost to the Scottsdale economy. Local businesses involved in planning and preparing for parties talked about the increase in hiring and bookings to keep up with the demand for the tourists expected to come to the area next month. (Fox 7 Austin)
