  1. A new preschool location has opened its doors in Scottsdale. The Whiz Kidz Preschool is locally owned and operated by certified teacher Martha Piccicao. The new 8,500-square-foot facility is at 11090 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. It will offer year-round enrollment. (Daily Independent)
  2. Early ballots for the Scottsdale City Council election go out today. Jul. 6. There are seven candidates on the ballot this year for City Council positions. The six candidates with the highest vote tally will go to the General Election. To request a ballot, please call the Maricopa County Elections Office at 602-506-1511. (The Arizona Republic)
  3. A new study by WalletHub has named Scottsdale as the No. 5 best city in the nation for recreation. The study examined 100 of the country's largest cities and ranked them based on accessibility of entertainment and recreational facilities, the quality of parks, and the weather. Scottsdale was chosen in part for its percentage of parkland in the city (No. 6), bike rental facilities per capita (No. 6). and its spending on Parks and Recreation per capita (No. 22).
