- When you drive from north Scottsdale to the city's more southern region, do you feel...hotter? Well, a study by the City of Scottsdale and ASU found that it is a full 2 degrees hotter near Scottsdale and McDowell roads than the rest of the city. The trees in that part of our city are near the end of their life cycle, according to the study. The project aspires to prompt an urban forestry plan — by increasing the tree canopy in the city, the cooler it will be. (Scottsdale Progress)
- Old Town Scottsdale boasts its first new hotel in over a decade. The New Canopy Scottsdale debuts with a 1,900 square foot Winfield Ballroom ideal for company meeting spaces, conventions, and larger events. (AZ Big Media)
- Scottsdale's Aquaman Pools, founded by resident Chad Nikkel, merged with National Pool Partners in an effort to better serve Scottsdale's pool community. Nikkel states that the merger will elevate the pool industry not only to the benefit of the company, but if employees and customers as well. (Your Valley)
- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office offer parents tips on how to detect the signs of drug use, and also how to have healthy conversations with their children about the drugs abuse and addictions. If conversations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner, children are 50% less likely to use drugs. There are also resources available to parents who know or suspect their child is abusing drugs. (Press Release Desk)
