Ukraine Fundraiser Takes Place In Scottsdale On Tuesday
The event will raise money for Ukrainian refugees and feature a lecture by UN Associated National Council Member John Richard Dalton, Jr.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ —The Diplomatic Corps of Arizona will be hosting a fundraiser on Tuesday in Scottsdale to help Ukrainians who have been the victims of Russian aggression.
The event will feature a lecture by John Richard Dalton, Jr., a member of the United Nations Associated National Council, titled "The War in Ukraine and Russian Aggression —A New Cold War or a New World War?"
The program will begin at 6 p.m. and take place at the offices of Treffpunkt AZ, at 14325 N. 79th St., Suite A. Treffpunkt is a nonprofit organization and meeting point for German-speaking residents of Arizona, including Germans, Austrians and Swiss.

The event is free, and there will be food, beverages and raffle tickets for purchase. Registration is available online.
All proceeds from the event will go to The Unforgotten, a United Nations-associated, volunteer-led Humanitarian effort that is bringing emergency relief to Ukrainians in the border regions of Poland and Romania.

In addition to Dalton, speakers will include Oli Stokolosa, director of strategic initiatives at Cactus and Tryzub, an organization created to galvanize and organize the Arizona Ukrainian American Community in response to Russia's latest military aggression, and Dr. Olena Tanchyk, a visiting Ukrainian Fulbright School at Arizona State University.
"Having just watched my home city of Mariupol destroyed by Russia, and losing my home for the second time in eight years due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I cannot tell you how much it means to have the moral, financial and humanitarian support of the United States and its allies, including Germany," said Tanchyk.
Also expected to attend Tuesday's event are Dmytro Kusheruk, the Ukraine consul general who is based in San Francisco, and Carolin Gey, German honorary consul.
