Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Scottsdale’s Veterans Day Commemoration will be held on Friday Nov. 11 at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. The event is free and open to the public. The keynote speaker will be Rose Mattie, who was deployed numerous times to Iraq. For more information, visit the link. (citysuntimes)
  2. Arizona artist Jen Urso is celebrating Scottsdale's water use with an amazing new project, 'What Grows Here' is an interactive, layered map that reveals the other 1,000 years of how water has been used in Scottsdale. You can move through the layers of the map using an interactive app. This project lets you experience a side of Scottsdale you've never seen before. (KJZZ)
  3. Some homeowners in nearby East Valley have spoken out against a proposed 122-room, extended-stay hotel. The proposed building would be constructed at the southwest corner of Power and Germann on 2.5 vacant acres. However, locals are pushing back against the hotel, insisting that it will cause an increase in traffic and crime. The Planning Commission approved the design on Nov. 2. (East Valley Tribune)
