Local relevance is high, as Sedona City Council recently canceled its Flock Safety camera contract over privacy concerns, while county leaders debate how to balance powerful crime-fighting technology with civil liberties and cybersecurity protections.
   

• 2 charged in check thefts (redrocknews.com) — Sedona residents are being warned to double-check any recently mailed checks after investigators linked a regional check-washing scheme to incidents in Sedona and several nearby towns. Two California men have been arrested, but authorities believe there may be more victims and urge anyone with missing or altered checks to review bank statements and contact law enforcement immediately.
