• Pima County considers $1.2M support for South Tucson's emergency medical and fire services (kvoa.com) — South Tucson leaders are asking Pima County to help fund a new 20-year fire and emergency medical services contract, including $1.2 million over four years and forgiveness of old settlements. With high poverty and rising 911 calls, the city says county support is critical to afford a Rural Metro contract and keep reliable emergency coverage in place.
   

• Tucsonans gathered to honor families affected by historic TCE contamination (kvoa.com) — Tucson residents recently gathered at Mission Manor Park to remember families harmed by decades-old TCE contamination in the city’s water, including dumping that occurred in South Tucson. Speakers unveiled a permanent memorial and reflected on how the community has endured cancers, federal Superfund cleanup efforts, and long-running legal battles tied to the polluted aquifer.
