Align Technology, which makes Invisalign and other products, has opened its new global headquarters in Tempe.
TEMPE, AZ — A tech giant is bringing its headquarters — and approximately 150 jobs — to Tempe.
The city of Tempe announced Wednesday that Align Technology (Nasdaq: ALGN), which is responsible for producing Invisalign, iTero scanners and other medical software products, has established its new global headquarters in town.
“The move of this company from San Jose to Tempe – especially in the midst of a pandemic – demonstrates Tempe’s continued strength as a hub for medical device technology," Tempe Mayor Corey Woods said in a statement. "We look forward to working with Align and celebrating their success in our community.”

Align CEO Joe Hogan said that change is at the core of the company, and the move to Arizona will allow Align to expand its reach.

"We chose Tempe for our new corporate headquarters for many reasons, including its proximity to San Jose, favorable corporate operating environment, low cost of living, and overall quality of life,” Hogan said in a statement.
The move was also welcomed by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.
“Today’s announcement is a testament to our unmatched business climate, top-notch talent and unbeatable quality of life," the governor said. "We thank Align for the jobs the company will create for our citizens, and for choosing Arizona as its new home.”
