ASU Football Fans Can Win Prizes By Recycling During Home Games

TEMPE, AZ — Football fans who are "caught" recycling during Sun Devil home football games this month can receive prizes for their efforts.

Sodexo, Arizona State University Sun Devil Athletics and Coca-Cola promise to reward fans seen recycling with Visa gift cards they can use to buy concessions, t-shirts or koozies, according to a news release from ASU.

During games at the Sun Devil football stadium this Saturday and Nov. 27, Coke Campus Ambassadors, student volunteers, and ASU’s Sustainability team members will be on the lookout for recyclers to reward.

“We’re proud to reward ASU football fans for good stewardship which includes recycling and working to keep a cleaner, more sustainable environment,” said Sodexo General Manager Don Young in the news release. “By celebrating those who choose to recycle on game days we hope to prioritize environmental consciousness all day, everyday and back Sodexo’s larger commitment to a better tomorrow.”

In addition to rewards for students who recycle at games, fans who use the #GreeningASU and #GetCaughtGreenHandedSweepstakes hashtags while posting about recycling on Instagram and Twitter have a chance to win a pair of game-day tickets.

“We’re proud to partner with Sodexo and Coca-Cola to keep game days green,” said Sun Devil Vice President of Athletics Ray Anderson in the release. “Since we view every day as an opportunity to get better, we’re urging Sun Devil fans to take the memories but recycle the plastic bottles.”
