D1 Training Brings Premier Athletic-Based Fitness Concept to Val Vista

Former Arizona Cardinal Opens State-of-the-Art Fitness Facility for Youth and Adult Athletes

D1 Training, a leading fitness concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, will be opening a new location in Val Vista at 1551 E Elliot Rd on July 31st. The group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.

In celebration of the new location’s launch, Val Vista neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility’s team at its grand opening event on August 12th, which will feature local vendors on-site and food trucks to kick off the celebration. The Val Vista D1 Training is a 5,000-square-foot space with 6 Sorinex Racks, treadmills, bikes, rowers, Dashr laser times, and an indoor turf measuring 25 yards by 15 yards.

Former Arizona Cardinal Kylie Fitts and his wife Kaylina will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees and owners some of which include professional athletes such as Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, Tim Tebow and Michael Oher.

Having been a linebacker in the NFL for four years, Fitts is poised for success as a business owner in the fitness space. Before he moved to Arizona, first for the NFL, and now for Val Vista’s D1 Training, Fitts was a D1 athlete himself at the University of Utah. After college, Fitts was drafted by the Chicago Bears and played with them for one year before moving back west to Phoenix to play for the Cardinals. His professional football career ended in 2022 after a few serious concussions pushed him to an early retirement at 27. He and Kaylina continue to call Arizona home and are excited to see their twin daughters grow up alongside their business.

“I used to train at the D1 facility in Scottsdale during the offseason, and something about D1’s offerings and its mission inspired me to bring this to my own community where I see young athletes and adults looking for this kind of training,” Fitts said. “Football has been something I’ve loved my whole life, but I have always known I wanted to give back to the communities that have supported me in my journey to a professional career in sports. This is my chance to help someone else get to where they want to be. While my wife and I are new to owning a business, I am grateful to have found a team in D1 Training who can see our vision to impact Val Vista and are supporting us every step of the way.”
